It is normal to sweat the small stuff as a parent, especially if you are a new parent. You might be scared to death that your child is overly reliant on his pacifier or you may beat yourself up over that occasional fast food meal that you pick up on those hectic days when you are running on nothing but caffeine and a sense of obligation. The good news is that these are not the things that lead to your child’s ruin. The bad news is that there actually is such a thing as trying too hard and all of your best intentions may blow up in your face if you don’t find some balance.
